Tour DetailsOur Bay Fishing Trips generally have great catches of different species on most occasions, such as Snapper, Gummy sharks, Flathead, Salmon, Squid and various Reef Fish. Our Captain Thumb Tac has vast experience in the areas of Southern Port Phillip Bay, second to none. KESTREL III, a 43ft Lacco, purposely built for fishing charters, was built out of Huon Pine in Rosebud in 1963 and was the original Sorrento Fishing Charter Boat. It has been lovingly restored by local Ferryman, Warren Neale, and is celebrating its return to service offering bay fishing trips with Rip Charters. Individuals, groups, or social clubs are welcome. Either of our vessels can be hired privately for such occasions as: Corporate Groups, Social Clubs, Birthday Partys, Sunset Cruises, Friends Get-togethers, Hens/Bucks Parties. Catering Packages are also available on Private Charters.Price: $70 Maximum Passengers: 20 (upto 24 on a private charter) Minimum Passengers: 8 Departure Time: 6am or 6:30am Departure Point: Sorrento Pier Return Time: 11am or 11:30am Inclusions: All rods, reels, bait and tackle supplied. Fish will be cleaned, filleted and bagged for your convenience, ready to cook up on the BBQ. All you need to bring along is some food and drink, appropriate clothing, an Eski to take your catch home in and your fishing license.We have a toilet on board as well.

At Rip Charters, we're fishing all year round and our specialty is following the seasons to suit the best catch of the day. Troll for salmon or try casting for some big red snapper. Anyone can do it. Our boats, BIG BLUE and KESTREL III, are specially furbished for your comfort and safety. They are designed and rigged for fishing and fully covered for all weather conditions to ensure your fishing experience is uninterrupted by sun or rain. We carry all the necessary fish finding, navigational, communication and safety equipment. Charters operate from Sorrento Pier, Sorrento, Victoria or pick up can be made from Queenscliff or Portsea piers upon arrangement. Trips can be organised from 4 to 10 hrs (standard charter is 5 hours) with the added bonus of catering packages for those special social events.
