Perth has one of the best climates for Charter Fishing in Australia as it is relatively warm all year round and whilst it gets very hot in the summer there is a reliable breeze which blows up to cool you off. You cannot count on it but it is called the Freemantle Doctor for a reason. Unfortunately this section covers the entire of Western Australia at the moment which is a bit crazy as Western Australia covers nearly the entire height of Australia from the temperate south to the tropical north. One of the good things with this is that because the coast line is uninterrupted there is a large migration of fish and other ocean species that go past Perth on the way north or south during their migration. So this gives a unique fishing experience that you might not get in places like Victoria.
Game fishing is one of the states most important fishing charter activity. You need big and powerful boats to get out far enough and to keep up with these fish. So the typical punter with a tinny has little chance. So at the right time of the year fishing charters are going for Sailfish, Marlin etc. Further south and closer to the coast there are other opportunities such as Breaksea Cod , Western Australian Dhufish, Pink and Red Snapper, Fox Fish and Queen Snapper.
